Chongqing University

Chongqing Medical University (CQMU) , Originally known as Chongqing Medical College , was founded in 1956, growing out of Shanghai First Medical college(the present Shanghai Medical College of Fudan University). With more than fifty Years development, CQMU has become a key university under the administration of Chongqing Municipal Goverment with an integrated educational system of Bachelor’s , Maste’s, Doctor’s and ppostdoctoral programs in medicine as well as related fields.

The University covers an area of 2.79 million square meters, with a building area of more than 1.4 million square meters. The total assets of the university amount to 5.06 billion RMB, among which the equipments and facilities for teaching, research and medical services are worth 983 million RMB. The library has a collection of 1.32 million books.

The University consists of 11 colleges, 6 departments and a nursing school. There are 5 postdoctroral programs,26 Doctor’s programs, 53 Master’s programs and 46 specialities for undergraduates. There are 188 Ph.D. Supervisors.At present, a total of 24,806 students are studying in the university, including 582 foreign students from 19 countries.
